Leukorrhea or "the whites," is the occurrence of a white discharge from the vagina, mostly as a result of a microflora imbalance with a predominance of pathogenic organisms such as Candida albicans or Pseudomonas spp. Although often also called a yeast infection, leukorrhea is not always due to this ubiquitous organism.
Treatment Plan for Leucorrhea
Herbal therapies include mucous membrane astringents, hormone balancing herbs, tonic herbs for the uterus and female organs, and immune stimulants. Antibacterial, antimicrobial herbs and soothing, anti-inflammatory herbs can both be used as a douche. Oral use of probiotics is also of great value (be sure to take at least 3 billion beneficial organisms/day).
